Company Start-up

In 2015 Ellen co-founded outdoor cinema company Enchanted Cinema in Cambridge, UK. Through her 3 years running the business she ran 3 summer seasons (over 100 ticketed screenings) as well as themed projects and events commissioned by establishments and businesses including, Cambridge University, CSR, Cambridge Dining Company and Featurespace.

Experience

Ellen curated the events, working with local musicians and independent film makers to showcase local artists’ work alongside blockbusters. Her main roles were managing the social media pages, website, branding, press relation, programming and coordinating staff and collaborations with local artists and street food businesses.

EACH Charity Screening

In 2017 Ellen independently ran a Christmas Film Festival in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices which included an Autism-Friendly film screening.

Enchanted Cinema had quick success, and received great reviews, with their outdoor cinema event formula.

WHAT IS

Enchanted Cinema?

Enchanted Cinema is an outdoor cinema event company in Cambridge, UK. It was was co-founded by Ellen Downes.
